I've Been Tagged!

Egads! I have no idea what to do here, and I'll probably re tag people, I seriously don't have that many blog friends that haven't already been tagged lol. And thanks Marelle :-D

Ok I have to share 7 things about myself.

1. I was born in Kempsey, NSW. But please don't hold that against me.

2. I use to drive a Monorail.

3. Tomorrow is my 8th wedding anniversary and I married my High School sweetheart Gavin. We have 2 beautiful children.

4. My son is named after 2 horror characters.

5. I spend way too much time reading Harry Potter and Dr Who fanfiction.

6. I am way too obsessed with Dr Who.

7. And I'm so darn boring I can't think of a 7th.

Now who to tag, and if you've already been tagged then don't worry lol.

Click on the link to the right and go take a look at some beautiful looking cards, hopefully you'll get lot's of inspiration.

Here's the card I made, which I think turned out quite nice (but I may be biased).

Happy Birthday

Having a play with the new stamp sets I received has been so much fun! For my Stampin' Start Rewards I could pick 3 stamp sets from the catalogue. It was such a hard decision to choose from so many great new sets. I ended up going with Looks Like Spring, which I was currently borrowing from a friend and totally love. Big Deal Alphabet, which was also in the last mini we had, and Everyday Flexible Phrases.

So I decided to create a couple of birthday cards using these sets. And I love them! A Stamp-A-Ma Jig is a must to create the background on the "Best Wishes" card, you need to line up the triangles perfectly to look seamless, but with the Stamp-A-Ma Jig it took next to no time at all.

And I think the Big Deal Alphabet looks great. I'm going to have to create a couple of scrapbook pages using this as well.

All materials used were Stampin' Up!® and are available through me.

Colour Challenge

Today I set myself a colour challenge. I pulled 2 pieces of cardstock at random out of my stash and told myself I must create 2 cards with said pieces. This is what I came up with. I don't know if I'm overly happy with them, and I really stepped outside my comfort zone with the first one.

The 2 colours I had to use were Handsome Hunter and Pumpkin Pie. Luckily on this nice cold Autumn day I was inspired.

For the first card, I dragged out my Eucalyptus Walnut Ink, which I bought ages ago and haven't used very much. I sprayed that on some Kraft cardstock and mixed it with Gold Encore ink from my reinker to give a mottled background that acutally looks velvety. I stamped on that with Chocolate Chip and Encore Gold.

The second card needs no explaining, just basic stamping, tearing and inking. But I like the look of it.

Materials used are
Stamp Sets - Heartfelt Thanks, Greetings Galore
Inks - Encore Gold, Chocolate Chip.
Cardstock - Pumpkin Pie, Handsome Hunter, Night of Navy, Kraft
Other - Black and Caramel Gingham.
